The main classification of steel pipes

    Different type would have different function for each type of the steel pipe. Thus there are the categories of seamless steel pipe, ERW steel pipe, LSAW steel pipe and also the SSAW steel pipe. Precise pipe would have certain usage for main area.

    Main types of the steel pipe are:

    Standard pipe: there are three different types of standard metal pipes which include welded pipe(ERW steel pipe, LSAW steel pipe, and SSAW steel pipe), seamless steel pipe(carbon stainless steel pipe) and galvanized steel pipe. Seamless steel pipe and ERW steel pipe would be better when adopted in oil and gas transportation due to high pressure taking with good quality among the pipes.

    Oil country tubular goods(OCTG): extraction of oil especially in deep sea needs high quality extraction equipment. Thus line pipe like the ERW, seamless steel pipe which are generally produced to API 5L Specification and are available in X42, X50, X60 etc. Grades for the precise extraction. This includes drill pipes, tubing and casing. It is used in drilling and completion of Oil and Gas wells.

    Of course, there are line pipe, pressure pipe, mechanical pipe and structural pipe among the whole pipes' type.
