Tolerance for diameter for API 5L SMLS steel pipe

    API 5L are specifications for line pipe, it is under ISO 3183:2007, petroleum and natural gas industries---steel pipe for pipeline transportation system.

    Any manufacturer making equipment or materials in conformance with the marking requirements of an API standard is solely responsible for complying with all the applicable requirement of that standard. API does not present, warrant, or guarantee that such products do in fact conform to the applicable API standard.

    Tolerances for SMLS steel pipe’s diameter:

    For OD less than 60.3mm, diameter tolerances except pipe end is -0.8mm to +0.4mm. Pipe end is -0.4mm to +1.6mm.

    For OD from 60.3mm to 168.3mm, diameter tolerances except pipe end is +/-0.0075 OD. Pipe end is -0.4mm to +1.6mm.

    For OD from 168.3mm to 610mm, diameter tolerances except pipe end is +/-0.0075 OD. Pipe end is +/-0.005 OD, but maximum of +/-1.6mm.

    For OD from 610mm to 1422mm, diameter tolerances except pipe end is +/-0.01 OD. Pipe end is +/-2mm.

    For OD over 1422, tolerance is as agreed.
